Plunge into the heart of the Andes on a 2-day Colca Canyon hike. Descend into the world's second-deepest canyon, encountering charming villages, majestic condors, and breathtaking scenery. Challenge yourself and be rewarded with an unforgettable adventure.
First day: Arequipa - Chivay - Cruz del Condor viewpoint - San Juan de Chuccho - Sangalle
At 3 am we pick you up from the hotel, and then we travel for about 3 hours to Chivay where we will have breakfast.
After our breakfast we will drive along the valley until we reach Cruz del Condor where we spend some minutes seeing the canyon and waiting for the condors to soar. Then we drive to Pampa San Miguel(Cabanaconde) where we start our hike.
We will hike down in the canyon for about 3 hours to San Juan de Chuccho where we will have our lunch.
After a little rest, we will continue hiking for 3 hours towards Sangalle which is a little oasis at the bottom of the canyon.
Upon arrival you can go for a dip in the refershing pool. Dinner and cabin provided.
Second Day: Oasis - Cabanaconde - Chivay Arequipa
Around 4:30am we will start hiking uphill for around 3 hours towards Cabanaconde. On the way up you will enjoy the sunrise over the mountains that flank the Colca Canyon. In the town of Cabanaconde we will enjoy our breakfast. The transport back to Arequipa departs from this town.
On the way back to Arequipa we will stop to enjoy the hot springs and for lunch as well.
We will arrive to Arequipa around 5:30pm
