Day 1: The Descent to the Hidden Village
Route: Arequipa – Condor’s Cross – San Juan de Chuccho. Departure 3am
Highlights: After visiting the Cruz del Condor, descend into the heart of the canyon. Spend your first night in the quiet village of San Juan de Chuccho, surrounded by fruit trees and towering cliffs.
Accommodation: Local family lodge (Basic).
Day 2: Andean Traditions & The Oasis
Route: San Juan de Chuccho – Cosñirhua – Malata – Sangalle.
Highlights: A gentle hike through the high-altitude villages of Cosñirhua and Malata. Learn about local agriculture and traditional medicine before descending to the Sangalle Oasis for an afternoon of relaxation by the pools.
Accommodation: Oasis Bungalow.
Day 3: The Triumph
Route: Sangalle – Cabanaconde – Chivay – Arequipa.
Highlights: Conquer the 1,200m ascent at dawn. After a traditional breakfast in Cabanaconde, we enjoy the hot springs in Yanque to soothe your muscles before heading back to Arequipa.
